Client Services

The following services are our core specalities however, we have direct access to many specialists to whom we may turn for advice, or to refer difficult cases.

We strive to provide the highest level of service for all our patients.

Preventive Medicine

Annual exams are valuable in the lives of our pets. A dog or cat ages several years in the course of a single human year. Routine examinations may uncover ear infections, heart murmurs, tumors, bad teeth, fleas and other parasites, or other medical conditions which can affect its life and health.

Vaccinations help prevent many infectious diseases, some of which can be life-threatening. However, some pets may not need every available vaccine. We customize our vaccination protocols to provide for your pet’s health, taking into consideration the pet’s safety, life style, and needs.

We offer diet consultation in choosing proper nutrition for your cat or dog during the growth, adulthood, senior, and elderly stages of its life.

Dentistry

We offer routine dentistry, including prophylactic cleaning, extractions, and minor oral surgery. Most such procedures inherently uncomfortable, and therefore are accomplished while the pet is anesthetized. Our protocol calls for pre-anesthetic blood testing, to ensure that the pet is healthy enough to undergo anesthesia. A variety of induction anesthetics are utilized, depending upon the patient’s age, condition, and general health. Anesthetized patients are constantly monitored for heart rate, oxygen saturation, and depth of anesthesia.

General Medicine

We offer routine ophthalmological examinations to evaluate the function and health of your pets’ eyes. The examinations may detect corneal and retinal irritations and injuries, conjunctivitis, eyelid tumors, and other conditions. Such examinations are also a part of the annual physical examinations.

Ear problems are common in veterinary medicine. Diagnosing ear mites, ear infections, or abnormal conditions of the structure of the ear occurs nearly every day. Treatments may include cleansing of the ear canals, surgical correction of miscellaneous conditions, and offering treatment regimens to provide relief from the discomfort of itching, stinging, and odor which accompany many ear conditions.

Dermatology is another very common area of veterinary medicine. The diagnosis and treatment of the many skin and fur conditions which can affect dogs and cats is extremely important to your pet’s overall health. Many parasitic, climatic, and hormonal conditions can lead to unhealthy skin. Examinations may include skin scrapings, biopsies, blood analysis, and other treatments.

Heart disease affects many older patients. The proper diagnosis and treatment of murmurs, congestive heart disease, and other cardiac and vascular problems is important in order to sustain our pets as they progress into old age.  EKGs and X-rays of the chest aid in defining the extent and prognosis of heart disease and in the choice of therapy for these conditions.

General Surgery

We perform routine spays and neuters on a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, and pocket pets. In addition, we perform limited orthopedic procedures, including some fracture repairs, limb amputations, etc. Exploratory surgery, treatment of abscesses, corrective eyelid surgery, and tumor removals are among our other surgical offerings.

Preanesthetic evaluations, including routine blood analysis, are a standard part of our surgical procedures. Patients are monitored throughout each procedure and during recovery.

Radiology

We can take, develop, and interpret X-rays on site. Barium series and other contrast procedures are offered, as well.
